Thank you for sharing, Michael. These are genuinely very useful tips. I was just learning about using slides to make "buttons" while browsing some media center websites where they had posted entire clickable choice boards that were just slides with linked images. I've been using Google Slides pretty exclusively for years, and I thought most of the features were the same, but the artistic effects have me curious about using PowerPoint again.

Hey, Carson, thanks for stopping by and taking time to watch my video. My wife has used Google Slides with choice boards quite a bit in her classroo, too. The ease in sharing with Google Apps really can't be beat. But I've found the graphics features built into PowerPoint to be really attractive when I'm trying to make something more professional.
DeleteMichael,
ReplyDeleteThis was a very helpful presentation! I knew about using presentations for games, but I didn't know I could create customized visuals in PowerPoint as well. I appreciate how thorough you were in your explanation, and especially appreciate the tip of saving as a JPEG or PNG. Bonus points as well for introducing me to loom! I love the layout of the video and will consider using this for future screen recording.
Many thanks,
Jenn Boykin
Jenn, thanks for taking the time to watch my video. The feature in PowerPoint for exporting an image directly off a slide is way under rated in my opinion. I use it a lot when I'm making images, graphics, or buttons and I don't need to create separate base files for each one.
